The Markham Pan Am Centre was built for the 2015 Pan-Am games and is a world class multi-purpose community and aquatics centre. Timmerman designed, supplied and installed the glue-laminated timber trusses that clear-span the 10 Lane, 50 metre Olympic Pool in this facility. The 53 metre glue-laminated timber trusses are the largest clear-span Glulam trusses in Ontario. Weighing in at just under 43,000 kg each, the trusses took just 3 weeks to assemble and install, and they were installed with one of the largest crawler cranes in North America. The total Glulam in this structure is 520 m³, and the entire building was built to the LEED Gold standard.
