The Queen’s John Deutsch University Centre features mass timber such as SilvaSpan nail-laminated timber panels and glue-laminated timber elements, constructed into an auditorium that was designed to represent the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe territories of which the site is situated on. Mass timber within the space helps the building actively sequester carbon, and the University Centre is targeting a LEED Gold certification.
