Project Summary
The new terminal is an 836 m2 structure that was built to accommodate the increased air traffic at an airport that functions as a hub for this northwestern corner of Ontario. Glulam is used extensively throughout the building, exposed to view in the 2-storey main aisle and in the exterior walkways, and hidden in the basement structure to support the significant 1st floor live and dead loads. Timmerman supplied 90 m3 of Glulam beams and columns for this project, as well as 400 m2 of Tongue & Groove (T&G) Roof Deck.
