Project Summary
The Markham Pan Am Centre was built for the 2015 Pan-Am games and is a world class multi-purpose community and aquatics centre. Timmerman designed, supplied and installed the Glulam trusses that clear-span the 10 Lane, 50 metre Olympic Pool in this facility. The 53 metre Glulam trusses are the largest clear-span Glulam trusses in Ontario. Weighing in at just under 43 000 kg each, the trusses took just 3 weeks to assemble and install, and they were installed with one of the largest crawler cranes in North America. The total Glulam in this structure is 520 m3, and the entire building was built to the LEED Gold standard.
